These terms apply to Window, the iOS app from BetterFeed.
The short version
Window is an iOS app that hard-locks the feed apps you choose, outside a daily 3-hour window you pick. Inside that window, you get up to 1 hour of actual use. Apps you lock stay locked. There is no "unlock" button. To remove Window, you uninstall the app, and your day count resets to zero when you do.
That's the deal. If you're not comfortable with locking apps permanently, don't install Window.
What Window does
Window uses Apple's Family Controls framework to block apps and websites you select. Each day a 3-hour window opens at the time you chose. Inside that window, you can use the locked apps for up to 1 hour of cumulative time. Outside the window, or after the 1-hour cap, the apps are blocked. Window also keeps a running day count on the home screen.
What Window is not
Window is not a medical or therapeutic tool. It is not a parental-control product. It is a self-applied commitment device for adults who want to limit their own phone use. If you're managing a serious dependency or compulsion, please talk to a qualified professional.
The locks are permanent
When you tap "Lock these apps" in the picker, those apps become locked for as long as Window is installed. There is no in-app way to unlock them. We don't offer an unlock for a fee. We don't have an admin override. This is intentional. The whole point of Window is that the lock is harder to escape than the urge to scroll.
If you want to exit the commitment, uninstall Window. Doing so removes the locks, resets your day count to zero, and erases your on-device settings (the window time, the list of locked apps). When you reinstall later, your day count starts at one again, though your install date carries over via iCloud so the count picks up where it left off if you reinstall on the same Apple ID.
No account, no sign-in
Window has no account system, no profile, no email or password. You install it, set it up, and use it. We don't know who you are.
Beta
Window is in active development. Bugs, edge cases, and breaking changes happen. By using Window you accept that the app may behave unexpectedly from time to time. We do our best to keep it stable; we can't promise a perfect experience.
No warranty, no liability
Window is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterFeed is not liable for damages of any kind arising from your use of Window.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms occasionally, usually when we add a feature or change how the app behaves. If we change something material, we'll note it in the app's release notes and at the top of this page. Continued use of Window after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the courts of India.
